What we need from you:

  • Ground Maintenance experience in all aspects of commercial ground care/landscaping
  • Reliable, friendly, outgoing & a team player
  • Have commitment, common sense & some mechanical knowledge
  • Full driving licence (max 6 points)

Extra experience that will give you a distinct advantage:

  • PA1/PA2/PA6 (Spray ticket)
  • Ride-on and industrial pedestrian lawn mowers
  • Tractor Driving
  • Towing
  • Forklift Licence
  • Working at height (MEWP) ticket
  • Winter maintenance experience

This is a full-time permanent post, normally working Monday to Friday but flexibility is required at busy times.

Due to our location own transport is necessary.

Operations and Business Development Manager (Permanent Position)

The Role

We are looking to recruit an Operations and Business Development Manager with experience in health & safety, compliance and tendering to join our team. D Horne Services Ltd is a privately owned company, mainly carrying out land based contracting services, ground maintenance, civils and groundworks currently employing 8 full time staff. The main purpose of this role is to help the company to continue its current steady phase of growth while managing the day-to-day operations.

Main Duties of the role:

· Manage the day-to-day operations of the business reporting to the Company director

· Ensure contracts are completed to programme, client satisfaction is maintained, and profit margins are met

· Completing any necessary paperwork, invoices, quotes, RAMS and other relevant paperwork

· Responsible for the accurate build up and submission of tenders/quotations

· Ensuring that adequate pre-contract planning takes place so that contracts are delivered in line with profit requirements

· Continually monitor contracts to ensure delivery in line with cost plans and deadlines

· Identify potential business development opportunities and manage BDM/telemarketing activity to develop client base in line with the business plan

· Support bid time by submitting requests for technical information timely and accurately

· Manage the Health, Safety and Welfare on contracts, staff, clients, and the general public

· Ensure the production and distribution of compliant health and safety information and plans and carry out training and development reviews

· Ensure that the company’s policies and procedures are being met and that the flow of information between all departments and their staff is being maintained

· Continually monitor staff and resources to identify requirements, interview and recruit staff to meet these requirements

Experience/Qualifications Requirements:

· Must have 5+ years of experience in a similar role preferably have a civil engineering background.

· Must have relevant experience and qualifications in H&S

· Must be flexible in travel and hold a Full UK Driving License

· Must be competent in using MS Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
